[Despite being gone for weeks and just now showing up again, Okita doesn't seem all that worried. In fact, he's out making snowmen in the middle of the town square despite the hour and the snowfall. After making one or two small snowpeople and a small snow fort, he picks up his journal to announce his return.]

It seems I'm back now. The snow is nice.

Does anyone know how much time has passed? I suppose Ayumu-san will scold me. Let's not tell her right away, hm?

Ah~ I've heard of those. We always just relied on Matsumoto-sensei for all of our injuries though.

Why would sweet foods need a doctor though?

If you eat a lot of sweet food and don't take proper care of your teeth, you can get cavities and all sorts of teeth problems. If there was a dentist around, I imagine he or she would get a lot of business with all the people around that like sweet food.

[He considers that for a moment as he finishes up another snowman, patting a couple rocks into his face to make eyes.]

Hm~ I never knew that sweets could cause teeth problems. We always thought it was demons or sickness.

[Ginia has a solid base now and begins smoothing out the surface to make it nice and round.]

It's mostly the sugar. But demons causing teeth problems... [She laughs quietly, not mocking, but a gentle laugh.] Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if there were demons that did that.

They say demons cause many problems in my time. Bad harvests, rain storms, sickness, murderers.

[La la la, making a little hat for the snowman out of snow.]

But people in the future think differently, don't they?

I suppose theories and ideas change over the years. Advances in technology and medicine can bring forth new insight. However, I find it best to keep an open mind on things. [Ginia grins and begins working on the next section of the body.]

[Okita looks at Ginia for a moment, as if considering her.

Then he smiles suddenly, very brightly.]

I like you. I can see why he does, too.

[Ginia blushes slightly and gives a tiny laugh.] Oh, thank you. I guess you mean Giles by "he"?

If that's the 'he' you're thinking of, then yes.

[Okita smirks.]

He never said anything outright to me, but it doesn't take much to guess.

[There's a pause before Ginia grins and laughs. Oh, well played.]

No, no, it doesn't.

So~ how long have you two been together then?

Three months now, though I've known him since July.

Also, Ginia, you will never be free of Okita's busybody ways now.]

He is, and I have been! He accompanies me to parties and other gatherings. He's getting a bit better at getting away from the walls.

Yes, that would be it. It's quite lovely. Easy too, so it was a nice starting place for him.
