[Despite being gone for weeks and just now showing up again, Okita doesn't seem all that worried. In fact, he's out making snowmen in the middle of the town square despite the hour and the snowfall. After making one or two small snowpeople and a small snow fort, he picks up his journal to announce his return.]

It seems I'm back now. The snow is nice.

Does anyone know how much time has passed? I suppose Ayumu-san will scold me. Let's not tell her right away, hm?

He is, and I have been! He accompanies me to parties and other gatherings. He's getting a bit better at getting away from the walls.

[Souji weighs out two small pebbles and sticks them in his sleeve. Then he turns and starts packing a small snowball, making it larger and larger.]

[Ginia hoists the middle section onto the first and begins smoothing the joints together. Look at that happy snowperson coming together.]

They are cold, often filled with trouble. Cities that never sleep always have something going on.

I suppose that is the difference with the future and the past. Winter is one of our quietest times.

Exciting, yes. Always so much to see and do, but also very lonely at times. So many faces, not a single one recognizable.

I guess that's true, but sometimes it feels too big. Very loud too. Granted, I'm still not used to how quiet it gets at night here, but it's nice. I can hear myself think.
