o39 [Action]

[Finally feeling better and able to go out, Okita was having quite a good time seeing everyone else's changes. It wasn't until he woke up this morning and tried to roll out of bed that he noticed something was wrong.

Very wrong.

But, perhaps people wouldn't notice.

Thus, Okita goes about his normal routine. As a woman. He's busy trying to cover that up, however, with a little padding around the waist and by keeping to his usual attire. Particularly attentive people, however, might notice he has a slight bust now and his voice is just a little higher than usual.

People can find him anywhere, from House 50 to the town getting supplies to the Welcome Center or even out on patrols.

It was a very different place between your time and mine. It was...rather chaotic, but there were worse places to live. And I'd probably have liked it better if we hadn't had the Hellmouth.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see. Well, I wouldn't want to go in my time anyway. I may be fighting for the Shogunate, but that doesn't mean I like these foreigners invading our shores and forcing themselves upon us.

[Which he just realized sounds really bad since he's talking to a foreigner.]

But that was a long time ago now.

Has the Hellmouth always been there? Or does it move?

As far as we know, it's always been there. Or, at the very least, it's been there long enough to have effectively been "always there". But the Spanish were the first ones to actually find and document this one's existence, a couple of hundred years before it properly became "American" territory.

There's another one in Cleveland. And they can open in new locations, under very unfortunate circumstances. But once one has opened, it stays opened. I didn't even know it was possible to close one until Buffy told me that we do just that.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
[He has no idea where Cleveland is, but he listens intently anyway. That is pretty fascinating stuff.]

Oh! Then you win in the future? That's always good to know!

[Giles actually smiles slightly, at this.] Yes, we do. I'm...sort of looking forward to it, really.

Granted, Sunnydale is, um, completely destroyed in the process, but the citizens are evacuated first.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Okita smiles back and the smile turns a little awkward when he hears the last part.]

Oh, well....At least a city can be repaired. If the people are safe, that is what matters, yes?

Precisely. And it's almost certain that, wherever they settle, there will be less vampires and demons. The people in question might even be a bit more watchful about the ones that do continue to trouble them. [Optimism, yes?]

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Yay optimism!]

Haha, yes, that is always a good thing. I do hope they learn to be a little more careful.

I hope so. Honestly, after surviving years of enslavement, to see them go back to acting like nothing about Sunnydale was at all unusual was...frustrating, to say the least.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
People like to pretend there is normalcy even when there is none. It saves their sanity, I think.

But it can cost them their lives.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but that is a choice they make when they choose to ignore their reality.

...I suppose it doesn't really matter, in the end. The world ended anyway.

...by mt time. Well after yours'. [That's...comforting, right?] S-So it's nothing you need to concern yourself with, Okita-san.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-12-01 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
But it's still your world, Giles-san. Even if I am long dead by then, I will still worry for the fate of our world.

Sorry. We did our best, it's just...I only ever knew what happened after I came here.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine. I don't think it could stay destroyed for very long or many more people here would never had existed.

[Blink. Giles looks a little nonplussed, at that]

...what a cheerful way of looking at things.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs, his voice raising a bit in pitch and tone.]

I've always been the cheerful one, remember?

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-12-04 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[He laughs, sounding honestly affectionate, for a second.]

Yes, you have. And I really do appreciate that, Okita-san.

I never thought th consider the fact that the world might not stay destroyed.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He laughs, too, and steps forward, poking Giles in the cheek.]

Being so pessimistic isn't good for you, silly.

[Giles takes a step back, out of reach.]

I can't help it. I've never exactly had much to be optimistic about before.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[And he makes a face at Giles moving away, all in jest though.]

Doesn't mean you shouldn't be~

[He grimaces theatrically.] I think Kendra and the others would have had me tested for demonic possession.
