[It's such a nice day out that Okita has decided to take the House 50 pets for a walk. Around mid-morning after he finishes his training, Okita can be found wandering around the village with the yellow chocobo Tammy in tow. And on her back? A disgruntled Saizou, wishing he could be down from the heathen bird. Tammy doesn't seem to care since Okita keeps plying her with treats to ensure she follows.

As he walks, he'll open the journal and turn on the video, showing him and the bird in the background.]

It's such a nice day out~

I wonder if everyone's in school or if they're on break~?

Are all the New Feathers settled in? If anyone would like a tour around town today, I'll be out with Saizou and Tammy~ Dog, unfortunately, can't take walks. Poor thing. But! That's okay~ He's happy at home. Come say hello! I really want to meet all of you.

[You know what? It's EARLY MORNING and Sokka s here for his training session. Only he has something extra for Mr. Souji. Yeah, he's breaking the time constraints of the post. Where did you go wrong, Okita?]

[ORLYNAO. He didn't go wrong. He went right. Because a student who can break the confines of time and space? AWESOME.

Okita is at the barracks early like usual, warming up before Sokka arrives. When he hears someone enter, he lowers the wooden practice sword and smiles.]

Punctual as always.

Well, you know. It's not that hard when... I live just over there. [He says as he glances back at his house. Yup, still in plain sight.]

But I've got something for you.

[He laughs.] I suppose that's true.

...Something for me?

Yeah, your sword. The one you ordered, remember?

[He has it over his shoulder, even. He shrugs off the strap and sheath and holds it out. It's definitely one of Sokka's better works. The sheath is similar to to his own, though suited for a katana. The blade is sharp, solid, and all that good stuff. On one side his name is inscribed (索卡) and on the other is Souji's (総司). Just like Sokka said it would.]

... [Oh! Wow, he didn't...think it'd be done this fast.

Reaching out with both hands, he accepts the sword and bows his head.]

Thank you, Sokka-kun. Really. This is the first new sword I've had in quite awhile.

[And so time to check it out. He presses his thumb against the hilt of the blade to release it from the sheath and then slowly draws it out, feeling the weight of it in his hand and examining the blade.]

It's beautiful. [He holds it out at arm's length and looks down the blade edge, smiling.] How long did it take you?

I've been working on it Since you uh, 'ordered' it. [Not consecutively or anything. He had other projects to work on, stuff outside of the smithy, and so on. Either way, he put plenty of time into it. Who knows, it's probably made of more durable stuff than Souji' current sword.]

Anyway, hopefully you find it useful.

You didn't need to hurry so much, but thank you. [He sheathes it again and slides it into the ties of his hakama, smiling. The weight is a bit more than he's used to, but that just means he'll have to practice with it before taking it out on the field.]

I think it will be very useful from here on. It feels a bit sturdier than the swords I've found here.

Well that's because you never had one made by me!

[He brags, yes. But only because it's all true!] If you ever need work on it though, let me know. I'm your go to guy.

[Okita laughs a bit and nods.]

This is true! I'll have to tell my friends about you then. I think they'd be very interested in seeing what you can do.

Repeat business, huh? Well, I won't object to that.

Knowing us, we may keep you very busy, Sokka-kun. I hope you don't object to that, either.

In a place like this? Nothing wrong with being busy. [He can always pass along some of the work to Ed or Hiccup if it gets too bad.]

Good to know. I'll pass the information along to my friends then. [There is maybe a second or two of hesitation as he remembers Yamanami and the fight he overheard. Maybe telling him isn't so wise. But the others...]

Shall we get to our practice then?

Oh, right. Yeah.

[Okay, he's going over to take his usual position.]

So, anything new today?

We'll be working on footwork first, I think. After that, some sparring.

[Okita moves to set the new sword down and picks up the wooden one instead.]

Are you ready?

[He prepares his own wooden sword as well and then nods.]

Okay... bring it on.

Defense first. [With a smile, he dashes forward, striking toward Sokka's left shoulder.]

[Sokka quickly reacts, rolling his shoulder back. A move he might have been able to pull off with flailing reaction a year ago, but he now pulls off with confidence and no hesitation. Sokka doesn't strike back, though. Another person, that would be no opening, but he's not reckless enough to risk it on Souji.]

[Good. When Sokka moves, Souji turns and takes one step back before aiming a horizontal slash at him from left to right.]
