The stars are so bright out tonight. If...a bit odd in their patterns. I wonder who the "Great One" is? Whoever he or she is, they certainly made an impression on the stars.

[He turns his head slightly toward the window as if trying to gauge how much light is coming in through the curtains and then back to Susumu. It takes a moment, but eventually he starts to open his eyes and immediately starts gripping the bed with one hand to distract himself from the pain.]

Is this really necessary? I just need it to be dark.

You shouldn't question a doctor. [Susumu lifts Okita's bangs out of the way, pressing his hand to the other man's forehead as he does so and shielding the light from his eyes as best as he can. He can't see anything wrong, though... strange.]

[He keeps his eyes open as much as possible and then squeezes them shut again, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his hands.]

It feels like they're burning; like they feel after staring at the sun for too long.

[Susumu steps away from the bed and over to the window, glancing out at the daylight for a long moment before closing the shades. It's sunny, but not that bright out.]

...There have been strange things going on in the village. People are growing ill for no apparent reason.

[He smiles and motions vaguely in the direction of the end of the bed.]

There are extra blankets in a chest there. If this does not clear in a day or two, we should speak to Ginko-san.

[When the blanket is up and the room darker, Okita seems to relax a little more and yawn behind his hand.]

[Excellent. Susumu bows again - trusting Okita to hear the rustle of his clothes - and slips out of the room, keeping the door as closed as he can again.]

[Once Susumu is gone, Okita just lies back in bed and stares up at the ceiling through closed eyes. He can't really sleep, but he'll pretend like he is until morning.]
