[He picks up his other pillow and hugs it to his chest as he settles in to listen. He likes listening to these foreign stories for some reason, but he can't read them himself.]

*And Medic begins to read it aloud, going so far as to read the witch with a different voice.*

[And he'll sit here, rapt, watching and listening to the Medic tell a story he's never heard before.]

*He finishes up with a little chuckle.*

Vould you like to here anohzer?

Hm, hm...vhich one...The Wolf und the Seven Young Kids! Zhis one is a bit more twisted, even!

*He's taking a bit too much delight in reading this one aloud, as well. Maybe Medic would be good with kids, who knows?*

[Okita watches the Medic and listens to his story - amazed that foreign countries have such violent stories to read to their children. And that the wolf wouldn't wake up through being cut open.]

*Oh, brothers Grimm, the horrible stories you collected to terrify children with.*

Zhat story used to frighten me as a child.

No, some are not zhat bad. Zhe Town Musicians of Bremen is not frightening. Zhe Brothers Grimm just had a knack for collecting zhe most disturbing fairytales!

[He laughs a bit and hugs his pillow.] I know some stories like that - ones my friends tell me.

Oh ja? Like vhat?

Like the story of the rabbits on the moon. Would you like to hear it?

Since I am in a rahzer good mood, vhy not?

[Okita clears his throat and starts speaking slowly as he tries to recall the story.]

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there lived rabbits on the moon. One rabbit fell in love with another rabbit and they played and spent time together in happiness. But the other rabbit soon became popular with the others on the moon and, seeing the first as only a friend, began to play and spend time with the other rabbits, too.

"Why?" thought the first rabbit. "Why play with anyone else when she has me?"

One day, the first rabbit decided to have a party for his beloved. All of the rabbits on the moon gathered and danced and sang and played together. All but the first rabbit who was busy making mochi cakes in a big stone basin. He pounded the white cakes over and over for his beloved, wanting her to see only him.

[Okita pauses and smiles faintly.]

Only there is no rice on the moon, Medic-san, with which to make mochi cakes. Instead, the rabbit used the other rabbits, the ones he was jealous of, to make his cakes.

The rabbits danced and played even as one by one they disappeared into the basin, until all of the rabbits but the first were gone - including his beloved - and his paws were stained red like the moon at night.

*Well, Medic starts to laugh.*

Oh, zhat is horrifying und hilarious!

[Okita smiles and puts his pillow back behind him, coughing slightly.]

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll have to tell Hajime-san if I ever see him again.

...Are you sure you vill be fine?

*It's weird to hear his real name, but he just chuckles.*
