Martel-san? Did you see Ted-san's post? He is asking to make miniature stations of the Welcome Center out in the forest and I do believe that might be a good idea for those who can't reach us in time. What do you think?

[He switches to voice and he's just sort of rambling as he doodles little shapes in the corner of his journal.]

Mm, I suppose making signs would be a good thing to do what with this cold snap running. Would anyone like to help? I'm in the apartments today but I should be heading out in a bit to gather up the wood.

Oh! And Nagakura-san? Enjoy your explorations! I'm glad you're going out for your turn because I think...I've done more than my share for a bit, don't you? [He laughs and suddenly changes gears]

It's almost spring~ I can't wait for it to come. I've always so loved the spring. The plums would be in bloom right about now, the festivals going on up at Tenjin-san, the faintest hint of the flowers' scents mingling in the air... I like the cherry blossoms, too, but there's just something wonderful about plum blossoms. Maybe it's because of a poem I heard once.

Actually, I wonder if this place has cherry trees. Come April, they should bloom, if they do.

What do your people do in the spring? Do they celebrate it at all? We have a great many parties under the trees and share sake and other treats while watching them. Kyoto had such beautiful trees everywhere. It was like the entire city was dressed in clouds of pink and white...

My, but I'm nostalgic today. How silly of me.

[OOC: Affected, but taken. Please wait for Kohaku [livejournal.com profile] amber_archangel to post first? After that you can troll away. Thank you♥]

Well... there weren't any plants. It was just a dark city... there was never any daylight, either. I didn't even know what seasons were until I came here, to be honest!

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-02-21 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

This place must be very different to you then. How do you like it?

[personal profile] fourteen 2010-02-21 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Very different. And, well, not counting the Malnosso... I like it a lot. It's so pretty, compared to what my world was like. I used to travel to other worlds, but I never got to stay long, so ... it's nice to be in a place where there's night and day, and the seasons change. I'm really excited for spring, now, too! When does it normally start?

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it should be starting in a few weeks, but the actual day depends upon the location. The further south you are, the sooner it starts, and to the north, the later. The first day of spring officially passed already, but actual spring won't be coming until sometime in the next month.

And you were a traveler? How lovely. Did you see many interesting places?

... that's kind of confusing. [ laughs a little ] I hope the trees bloom here like you described, though. It sounds like it would be wonderful.

I guess you could say that. And yeah, I did! It was always strange, but kind of fun, to go from my world to someplace like Agrabah, where it was always sunny and hot, and there was a ton of sand everywhere.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-02-22 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs as well] I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that the calendar system here is different.

Oh! You went to a desert? I heard there is a place like that here, but I've yet to see it.

[personal profile] fourteen 2010-02-22 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's fine! I need to get used to it anyway. I can't always be asking questions about what season is going to happen when!

There's a desert here? Wow... I didn't know that! I bet it's just as hot and dry. [ bleh. ] Trust me, deserts aren't that special. Unless you like being uncomfortably hot all the time.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-02-23 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I need to get used to it, too. The days are a little different and they use different counters for time as well. Like, if I told someone to meet me at the hour of the rat, they'd just stare at me. [He laughs and then sighs a little] It's taken me some time to get used to. How about you? Was there some special way of measuring time in a world of darkness?

Oh, and if you ever have a question about seasons, please don't hesitate to ask. I love talking about them.

Haha, I'll keep that in mind about deserts. Maybe it's a good thing I haven't tried to find it. I don't much care for hot and dry.

... yeah, I think they would! [ giggles quietly ] What's the hour of the rat? And for me, well ... it was pretty much the same as here. We had the same days and months. I'm still not sure how they told time when it was always dark, though! But everyone else always seemed to know, and I never thought to ask. I kind of want to find out, now.

Really? Are you sure you don't mind? I don't want to bother you...

Hehe, yeah, it wasn't one of my favorite worlds to visit. My favorite was Twilight Town. It was so pretty, and the sun seemed like it was always setting when I visited.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
The hours of the day are divided up into the different animals, the first of which is the hour of the rat. I believe...the time would be from 11PM to 1AM by the Western reckoning? I think. I always used to come back around that time after doing night watch. If you do ever find out how your people told the time, please tell me. It would be very interesting to know.

And of course I don't mind! It's fun to share things.

Twilight Town? That sounds lovely. The sunset is so pretty, isn't it? I prefer the noon hours, when it's much more fun to play, but the transition from day to night is undeniably alluring in some odd way.
