It would seem that everyone has been getting letters? I'm seeing all sorts of buzz over this - over who this Tyr person is, over whether or not it's a trap or our only option to be free. So many people are talking about staying, but I have a question.

Who is going to go?

Yes, I'd think they'd fit right in there.
[And he's sitting down finally, taking a page from his journal and drawing a traditional Japanese cafe down on the paper - complete with a little piglet sitting in one of the seats like a customer.]
These are the sorts of rest areas I'm used to. We have benches instead of chairs and a raised area here with tatami mats where people can sit down and have a real meal.

Ours is more like a bar, I suppose. [And he draws a row of tables with long chairs, and sloppily designed men having fun.] It's not a cafe so much as a beer hall, at least.

It's an alcoholic beverage, though I don't suppose they'd have that during your time.

In my country, people drink sake - alcohol made from rice. I've...heard of beer before, I think, but it's something the foreigners brought with them.

Beer would be a more powerful alcoholic drink then, or at least ours was.

Only when I need to. Winter gets very bad in Germany, and it helps boost body heat.

Winter in Edo was fairly bad, too, but I usually just ate warm things instead.

I'm impressed, Alfons-kun. I didn't think someone so young would be able to drink so early.

Well, it was more of a necessity really. Beer was cheap enough to drink regularly as opposed to getting a better heating system back at home.
