[Things have been difficult for him lately and he's been avoiding "certain people" with a vengeance, but there is always one thing that he knows can cheer him up.
Souji opens his journal one day and with as bright and cheerful a voice as he can muster (which is kind of like rainbows barfing sunshine) he says:]
So who here is being a grumpy grump after the holidays? I know you're out there~
I've heard of at least two: the one with the spiky hair who hates being asked about it and the one with the skirt who hates it being called a skirt.
There have to be more, aren't there? [He degrades into what sounds like baby talk.] So who's being a grumpy-wumpy bear, hm?

[He's just going to stare at journal for a moment, completely at a loss for words on that one. Cliff, military? Please.
It didn't take long for him to recover.]
Hey. It's nothing like that! [It was simply a matter of embracing the reality.] And I'm willing to try it your way. It's got me curious now.
voice;
Maybe tomorrow afternoon?
voice;
[Nothing-- there were only his own cultural notions that he needed to get through.]
When and where did you wanna meet then? And, should I bring anything for this?
voice;

[He had some winter clothes, but most of the time he just threw on a heavy coat and gloves. Recently a strange jacket had shown up in his closet that fit him perfectly, and Fayt had given him an awesome set of gloves, but he still didn't have a very extensive selection.
He laughed softly, wondering how badly he was going to be spoiled now.]
Sure, that sounds great if you think they'll fit!
voice;
Oh! And if you have any preferences for soaps, you should bring those, too.
voice;
Roger all that, then. We'll meet tomorrow 'round three.
voice;
And do you like sake?
voice;
[It wasn't a particular favorite, but he did enjoy it every once in a while.]
Just don't go outta your way for too much, alright?

Besides, it'll be fun, won't it? Something new to try.
