[Souji is at home and it's too quiet. He ends up talking to Saizou, his pig, for company a lot lately and this time, Saizou steps on the journal as he's talking, picking up bits and pieces of their one-sided conversation.]
--nder...why...--that some ......--ile others go, Saizou?
[The pig grunts and Souji laughs softly, sounding tired and worn.]
Mm...yes, I suppose we'll never know.....--haps....world returns.....--work still left to complete; and leaves ...... --no longer necessary.
[He's quiet for a moment and then lets out a heavy sigh, dismissing his own thoughts.]
No, that's silly. ....--ing me the jour--....
[The microphone picks up the muffled bumps and thumps as Saizou bites the journal and brings it over for Souji. He presses the on button again, unaware that it was already recording. When he addresses everyone, he's much chipper like he always, no trace of his earlier stress.]
I learned a new game so I have a question for everyone~
Would you rather eat nothing but your favorite food forever or never eat your favorite food again?
Also, it has been quite awhile, but anyone who knew my other self, Hijikata-san or Chizuru-chan; they've all returned to their homes.

[Although yeah. Patchouli must be a sore spot, if Kohaku remembers - which Souji doesn't know she does. He thinks for a moment and then lets out a soft sigh.]
At least you know when you return it will be as if nothing has changed.
[Voice]
[She'll figure out a way to come to terms with it.]
Exactly. Although I am already home sick.
[Voice]
...Perhaps Kohaku-chan should find a hobby to do here? There is a garden behind the Welcome Center that could use some help tending to. And a flower shop here, as well.
[Voice]
I've actually gotten a job at the flower shop! I can't water them since I'm inside, but it's nice to care for all the different plants there. And I also get to help people hear them for the first time.
I will probably find plenty of gardens once Spring is fully here.
[Voice]
[And then he's been hermitting since coming home to an empty house.]
I'm glad you're doing well here, though.
[Voice]
[Because people just don't disappear!]
Well, I got to stay with two friends until I got all my memories back. So that helped.
[Voice]
Do you still stay with them? Your friends, I mean.
[Voice]
For now. I was going to find another place to live in a day or two since I've been there long enough.
[Voice]
My house is open, if you didn't mind living with animals. [He laughs] We've gained a pet or two since you left.
[Voice]
I wouldn't mind that at all. I've actually never had a pet. What are they??
[Voice]
As for pets, there is a goldfish named Dog in the kitchen, and a chicken named Fish who lives in the house sometimes. Oh, and Tammy the big yellow bird out back and of course, Saizou. Do you remember him?
[Voice]
[Hold on. She has gotten lost with the names and type of animals.] Yes, I remember Saizou, but those are confusing names...but, how big is Tammy?
[Voice]
[He laughs a little] Yes, they can be a little confusing. We were feeling silly when we named them. Tammy is...well, large enough to ride on. I think someone once said she was a "chocobo," whatever that is.
[Voice]
A...chocobo. It sounds cute at least.
[Voice]
[He smiles.]
And it isn't what I want that is important, Kohaku-chan. It is what you would like.
[Voice]
...Huh? [Rephrase that please]
[Voice]
Tammy will be quite excited, too.
[Voice]
And...where you live. I can't remember that.
[Voice]
[He smiles faintly. Yes, so she isn't the same one he lived with. Perhaps that is for the best. She won't realize the differences he's gone through - or remember how he died.]
House 50, just behind the city plaza.
[Voice]
[She remembers almost everything, except for the little details.]
Oh, yeah. That's right.
[Voice]
[No one really notices he's there, which is an advantage when he wants to use the midnight hours to read over what the village is up to.]

[Voice]
The night is becoming my day, after all. So what people do during the day, I simply do when the moon is out.
