I can understand why you wouldn't want to say anything when you first got here. I can understand training Sokka, and fighting as if nothing was wrong.

I don't know if my healing can help you - I trained to fight, not to heal, and I've never seen a disease like this before. But I have some water of unusual power, and if you want me to try to help you, I will.

And there's that too-familiar feeling of helplessness, and all its bitter taste, rising in the back of her throat again.]

[She remains kneeling and glances up at him.]

[He straightens and holds a hand out to her.]

You're welcome. [She doesn't know quite what to do with that hand, but she'll take it.]

[Yup, hi. He takes her hands and helps pull her to her feet. He's all smiles now, Katara - this is likely a bad sign.]

[She gives him a measuring and mildly suspicious look, retrieving her hand.]

That depends if you want to dodge some more rocks or not. [But then she shakes her head.] If she's still out there, you could probably go ahead. But if not, I'd give her a little space. I wouldn't wait too long, though.

[Because if she has to deal with an upset Toph over dinner, she will be upset.]

Yes, of course. I'll go and see to it now.

[He smiles at her and heads out.]
