Well...at least I can move the mask to the side. How is everyone else doing with their costumes? Isn't the town interesting? I've never seen anything like it! It's so strange~

[Souji is dressed like this with a mask like the ones to the right, but moved to the side so it doesn't cover his face. He doesn't like his costume at all. It brings back bad memories. But taking it off did nothing and he hates just sitting in his room all day.

If people are out and about, he can be found just about anywhere in town looking at the decorations, poking at the buildings, or taking Saizou for a walk. Eventually, he'll end up back at House 50 with Saizou in tow so he can feed the little piglet before the pig decides to eat someone.]

[As he comes back up the walk to the house, he notices that and stops just beyond the eaves so he can talk to the ninja.]

Yamazaki-san? Did Tammy get into your hair again?

[There's definitely something odd about the movements of the birds, and most of her attention is on what she can see farther into the trees. Okita returning home isn't anything unusual, so she only makes peripheral note of it... at least until he stops and addresses her.

Or rather, thinks he's addressing a him.

[Yes, she's noticing this. And kind of amused by the idea, too.

So instead of responding out loud, she just lowers her hand again and gives Okita her best imitation of Susumu's "I'm so not going to dignify that with a response" flat look.]

[She shakes her head slightly and casts one last look toward the forest before getting up and moving to the edge of the roof to get down again. It's easier to maintain the game if she stays up there, but it's easier to talk when they're on the same level.]

[He takes a step back and tilts his head. Why isn't "Susumu" saying anything? Is he really that mad?]

[She drops to land in a neat crouch, offering perhaps the slightest of smiles as she straightens again.]

Something strange is going on and I can't change out of these clothes... but other than that, everything is fine.

[She lifts a hand to her hair again, wondering what Okita had been talking about earlier.]

[He laughs a bit and nods.] It is indeed. I really couldn't tell the difference from far away.

It feels like there's more to... whatever this is, than simply costumes that can't be removed.

Judging from the reactions of others, we can expect things to get worse from here on out. Keep an eye on what the others are saying. I'm going to keep up my patrols around the village.

[He pulls at the fox mask, but it won't come off.]

It makes it so hard to move around.

These things keep geting in my way, too. It's hard to cook with them on.
