Well...at least I can move the mask to the side. How is everyone else doing with their costumes? Isn't the town interesting? I've never seen anything like it! It's so strange~

[Souji is dressed like this with a mask like the ones to the right, but moved to the side so it doesn't cover his face. He doesn't like his costume at all. It brings back bad memories. But taking it off did nothing and he hates just sitting in his room all day.

If people are out and about, he can be found just about anywhere in town looking at the decorations, poking at the buildings, or taking Saizou for a walk. Eventually, he'll end up back at House 50 with Saizou in tow so he can feed the little piglet before the pig decides to eat someone.]

[And he starts circling around Giles to see what he might hate about it. Saizou, meanwhile, sits on the ground, glaring up at him.]

It's far too formal, and it's based off of a famous vampire from my world. [And as soon as Okita can't see him do so, Giles glowers at Saizou. You are lucky you're Okita's pet, pig.] In other words, I have to walk around with my clothes mocking me all day.

[Saizou just gets up and glares more, snorting. Okita doesn't seem to notice and is instead pulling on the coattails.]

[These coattail things are fun. Souji keeps tugging on them while Saizou gets up and starts sniffing at Giles' shoes.]

It's a demon. In my home country, I mean. It's the costume of a fox spirit. I don't like the hair, but at least it's in a nice color.

Kitsune? [Back, pig, back! Unfortunately, Giles can't really back away from Saizou with Okita holding onto his coattails] Hm. Well, it is a nice color. Wouldn't really have pegged you for a fox spirit, but I did meet someone dressed up as a large cat who didn't have any idea why.

Mm...I'm not a fan of either, really, but I can't go outside if I don't put up with it. And yes, a kitsune. I suppose...it could have been worse.

Yes. You could have gotten stuck in the cat suit. I don't know how Jay is going to manage while this is going on. [Goddamn you, Saizou. But he's way too heavy for Giles to try and move without getting headbutted again.]

I don't know how they're managing to stop us getting rid of these things, but it probably doesn't matter. You're right - we can't go outside if we don't put up with them, and I still haven't seen half the village all day.

[The pig grunts and gets up, sitting down next to Giles instead.]

It's likely more of their shifting...whatsit. [He walks back around and crouches down, poking Saizou in the nose.] It's too bad people aren't coming out though. I want to see what everyone looks like.

[Phew. Giles shakes some feeling back into his foot] They're not even letting themselves be seen by the cameras. I probably wouldn't be out today either, but I had to work at the library.

We don't have this holiday in my country. I'm still getting used to it.

[He leans down and picks Saizou up, holding him in his arms. The pig looks oddly contented.] But Saizou likes it! He eats all the pumpkin scraps.

Well, that's good. Cleaning up the pumpkins is generally one of the more problematic bits.

Yes, we do. Halloween. It's a fairly old holiday, although it's gone through several changes in the last hundred years.

Halloween is, depending on where you're from and what you believe, about celebrating the end of the harvest, the spirits of the dead, or both.

By my time, however, it's an excuse for people to dress up in silly costumes, beg for candy, and do stupid things.
