[He's humming to himself as he doodles in his journal; the sound of crickets chirping indicates it's rather late at night and yet he's still awake. The page quickly fills up with drawings of grumpy looking piglets chasing after butterflies, gnawing on reed shoes, or sitting in the grass and flowers until there's almost no space left. Then, very small in the corner, a grumpy looking man with long dark hair and a Japanese pipe is drawn.]

Funny... I used to tease them all for how loud they snored at night.

...and now I can't sleep if they're not. I wonder how long it'll be until I grow accustomed to this.

[He closes the journal and the sound cuts out.]

I think we both just need to get used to deafening silence that wasn't there before.

True. Then again, with so many people here, maybe I'll just stay up at night for a bit. I haven't been able to do that in a loooong time.

Or you could find a loud roommate. There's gotta be someone here who snores as loudly as your friends did.

A bit over a week ago. Ah, you must be new then. I'm sure it was weird to come to a place where almost everyone was injured and a few were gone.

Yes, I just arrived a week ago today. It was...interesting, to say the least.

I bet it's interesting to learn that the dead here do come back.

Not in the best of shape and missing something, but they do come back.

That...was indeed a shock. I normally wouldn't believe it, but I've seen it happen now and cannot deny the truth.

I hope the same didn't apply to our enemies. I'd really hate to go through all that again.

That is...a good question. Who were your enemies? I heard they were outsiders, trying to kill everyone here for some reason?

Hate to admit it, but I don't know much. Outsiders with wings larger than the ones we have, invisible weapons and magic.

They were quite strong, I'm surprised we didn't lose more people.

Larger wings and invisible weapons...? I wonder where they came from.

And yes, if they were as strong as they sound from everyone's stories, it is a good thing indeed you all didn't lose more in the battle.

For all I know, while I was gone more may have been discussed. I haven't asked my roommate about that yet since I came back.

That and there is something else here not affiliated with the Malnosso that informed us of this. Well, and there was a rather unpleasant video that showed what would happen to us if we did nothing.

And yes, I'm pretty much evidence of the dead come back to life here. Not something I wanted to experience firsthand, but better than the alternative.

He won't be returning. Something about the method in which he died, but had we not beaten the invaders, that would have happened to us all. I don't know about you, but it would be a big problem in my world if I didn't come back. Would take them some time to notice, but it would be a problem.

[He chuckles a bit] They won't miss me yet at least. What I do involves a lot of travel between the two planets, so I'd have to be gone for a couple of years before someone noticed. Time's pretty messed up around here anyhow. Makes for some really awkward discussions among your friends.

Yes, I noticed. My friend is apparently from my future? I try to avoid asking him too many questions.

Thankfully whatever is happening at home will wait for you, yes?

That's probably good. My own friend from my world is from my past. I tried to avoid a certain subject, that didn't work well.

Yeah, it will wait. We dealt with the worst of it already in my own time. Hopefully the same goes for you? Or maybe your friends being from the future shows that you'll be back safe and sound in time.
