Cakes and pies.

Are amazing.

[After his discussion with Jade about cakes and pies, Okita decided to try some. Like two of each. He's on a pretty intense sugar-rush and will be bouncing around House 50 and all over the village to try and work out the extra energy.

Feel free to run into him and wonder why this grown adult is giggling at nothing or playing with just about anything he finds.]

Ooooh, what's cotton candy? It sounds funny. Why would someone eat cotton? Isn't that for clothes?

I think it's called that because it's fluffy, but it's not really cotton - I'm not sure what it's actually made out of, but it's sweet and sticky!

Sticky? Like sticky mochi? I like those - those are good. Do they have this sticky-fluff candy here?

I see it at the store sometimes, but it tastes a lot better when you make it yourself! [Translation: when Sanji makes it for him.]

Can you teach me? I want to learn how to make it! Does it come in different flavors like the cakes and pies do?

Oh! Do you want to eat some with me? I have so much left over.

Ah, I've never actually made it before...Sanji will make it sometimes if I ask, but a balanced diet is important, so we don't eat it very often. But there's a lot of different flavors, like vanilla and banana -

R-really?! How did you get so many?!

Oooooh, Sanji-san is a very good cook. I bet it tastes fantastic!

Iiiiiiiiii [stole them from the store] got them at the store.

Um...if you really don't mind giving me some, then - [He's about to say "WELL YES I'LL EAT ALL OF YOUR CAEKS AND PIES1!!" when the first part of Souji's statement catches up. And then he just goes 8D] Oh! You know Sanji?

Of course! I can't eat it all myself or I think I'll explode.

Or Hijikata-san will kill me. ....Or Ayumu-san.

But yes! I know Sanji-san. We've talked quite often over the journals.

[As excited as Chopper is about this, there's a slight firmness in his voice when he speaks next.] Of course! It's okay to have sweets every now and then, but if you don't eat them in moderation with healthy foods, you'll get sick. Even if you need a burst of energy, it's better to eat a fruit with natural sugar in it.

[A beat. Annnnd then any sense of seriousness is out the door and excitement is go.] But Sanji is really good at making food that's still healthy, even desserts!

[That makes him curious.] You sound like you know a lot. Do you cook, too?

I'm going to stop by his restaurant someday and he's going to make a cake for me~ I'm so excited.

If it's Sanji, it'll be the best cake you've ever had! [And it takes Chopper a second to get what Souji meant by that, but when he catches on, he holds up a hoof and laughs sheepishly.]

Oh! It's not like that - Sanji cooks for everyone. I'm the crew's doctor, Tony Tony Chopper.

He's so nice to do that for everyone! And oh! You're a doctor? That's a very admirable job.

It's nice to meet you-- [Whoa, he has three names. UH....] Chopper-san~ My name is Souji. Okita Souji~

[He blushes furiously at the praise, dragging the side of his hat down with one hoof and rubbing the back of his head with the other. Chopper is unfortunately a failure at taking compliments, so while he'd like to do something like thank Souji and say that it's nice to meet him as well, what actually comes out is:] No way! B-being a doctor isn't anything special!

[This is the one thing that can bring him out of his sugar-high and he sounds very serious for a moment.] No, it really is. I think it's one of the most admirable professions in existence.

Shut UP! It's no big deal, got it?! I-if you ever feel sick, let me know - but I'm not happy at all, so don't get the wrong idea!

[...this is normal. He's very happy, really >>]

[He laughs a little and nods.]
