Is everyone getting settled in?

That was certainly a strange time for a New Feather wave! I hope you're all doing well, and that you know the Welcome Center is here to help you. Several people have mentioned it already, but if residents would keep an eye open for the stragglers? There are probably going to be a few of those...

[He pauses and then switches subjects]

There are many insane people in the world, Giles-san. You sound like the most sane of them so far. Even if your adventures are a little odd.

Compared to this place? Yes, I suppose "a little odd" might actually be an appropriate descriptor.

Oh....a few, I suppose. Nothing that can compare to being turned into a demon through alcohol though.

That was just the one day. The only thing particularly unique about it was that I was off my head enough to let it happen in the first place. Especially considering who I was drinking with, at the time.

Yes! He sees spirits and things like that - things the rest of us can't see.

Doesn't sound like an ability you'd actually want to have. Granted, seeing spirits is one thing I can't do, so I wouldn't know.

Considering where we live? Quite often.

1840s Japan over other places in particular? I'm not too familiar with the time period.

Ah, 1860s, I think. But no, it's less the time and more the place. Kyoto is the capital and has been for a very long time - there have been many wars and many people who came here seeking refuge only to find none and perish in unhappiness. Hajime-san tells me stories of the ghosts he sees sometimes. Usually they're never very happy.

Typically if a ghost manifests at all, it's not very happy.

[Then, because his description of Kyoto was a little too...firsthand] Still. There doesn't seem to much in the way of ghosts or demons here. That's something, I suppose.

Yes, there doesn't seem to be. I wouldn't know the difference, but I suppose Hajime-san would be a bit happier here.
