Well... that'll teach me to lose my journal. You would think I'd have kept better track of it, but it looks so much like all the other books I had lying about. I really should return some of those. [He pauses for a bit as if looking around the room.] Oh well.

Looking back on what you've all done, you've certainly been busy! And now, at least, I know where the music has been coming from. More of you need to dance. It's so cute.

It is a government where the Emperor places his military and the command of his country into the hands of the Shogun, the highest ranking samurai in the country. The Shogun then distributes power of the smaller domains into the hands of his followers. Very militaristic in theory, but I don't think the Shogun has fought a war in a very long time. He leaves it to people like us.

Not me per say, but it was stopped.

Well, that's good. I wouldn't want you to burn up and die because of a song and dance routine.

Right.

I've heard of it, it's just a little outdated in my world. Still a worthy cause; protecting innocent lives.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see.

And...yes. The rebels tend to come in from the countryside, heads swelled with the idea that they are fighting for a worthy cause, and end up harming the townspeople with their brash actions. They unsettle the land with their rebellion, causing the people more trouble.

I hope for a quick solution to them, but it appears that our war will be longer than I hoped.

...all right.

[And now he's wondering what he's just agreed to...]

Great! I'll see you when I come back!

Wars are rarely won overnight.

[Wouldn't that be a bearba- no, no, focus on the candle. THE CANDLE, SUSUMU. You do not want the scary high pitched foreign voice to come back.]

I don't think you'll get far that way.

[Action]

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
I got all the way here.

[He scoots up a little more onto the bear so he can see Susumu better.]

He's very comfortable, too.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, regardless of what we wish, it does seem that way.

[identity profile] meshninja.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[He's not even sure how to respond to that sort of comment. WTF, Okita.]

...I'm not interested.

[He's in a weird mood. The draft is coming up, so he wants to play as much as possible.]

Not even a little bit?

[He starts putting the pigs on the bear's head, but they end up falling and tumbling into Susumu's room. Oops.]

[Action]

[identity profile] meshninja.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He is probably going to the wrong person here. A playmate Susumu is not. xD]

...Not at all.

[One eye is open again. ...That pig is too close. If it gets an inch or two closer he's setting it on fire.]

[Action]

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
[LOL he knows, that's why he's here. And don't set the piglet on fire. ; ; That's Saizou.]

Buuuu, Yamazaki-san is no fun. Why are you just sitting there? That seems boring.

[Okita disappears and comes back with a pole to try and fish the piglet out with.]

Still frustrating to see a battle carried out beyond justice however.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mm....That is the nature of war, isn't it? On the battlefield, people so often lose their sense of justice, of right and wrong, when faced with the threat of losing their life.

Far beyond that and well into what I'd call blood-lust, however.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, Smoker, you just hit a sore spot.]

Yes, that is a dangerous thing.

To put it mildly.

[Then you better rescue Saizou before he starts rolling or something.]

I'm trying to meditate. [And get rid of those godawful voices. SPEAKING OF WHICH YOU'RE NOT HELPING.]

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
Some people cannot help it. They try their best to hide it, train it, get rid of it....but it's like a demon taint in them.

It's unfortunate, but they can only live on the battlefield. That is where they must also die. Or risk bringing their horror to the rest of the world.

[Action]

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He's trying! He's leaning over the bear, trying to roll the pig back toward him with the end of the pole.]

Hnnnngh....... But why at this late hour? You're so silly.

Everyone can have a taste for violence. I'm a hunter, it's what I do. But it crosses a line when it becomes torturing for the sake of more blood, fighting beyond when the fight is already won and an enemy's surrendered. Worse still when the lives being sacrificed are not their own to risk.

[identity profile] ahappylie.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Which is what Okita is afraid of becoming if he survives the war.]

Ah, yes....the corruption of the warrior's soul is perhaps the most terrifying and saddening thing to behold.
