[It was so nice to be out and about again. He was feeling much better and, after taking such a long break, it was refreshing to be back in the dojo, bare feet on wood and the sense of imminent bruises in the air. Okita rolled his shoulders as he finished his warm-ups, two wooden swords propped against the far wall, a third in his hands. The feel of the weapon was enough to assure him that he had not lost his edge, not yet, and that he would be able to guide his student - and his new partner - in a light spar.

Now all he had to do was wait for them to appear, but judging from the position of the barely rising sun, Sokka would be along soon enough.]

Your new partner isn't here yet, as you can see, but I suspect he should be here soon.

Practicing with one style only will cause you to grow stale. It's much more interesting and better for improvement to go blind into fights with other dojos and teachers.

[A.k.a, this is how we did it back in the 1850s - busting into other dojos and kicking butts until we learned everything.]

Warm up while we wait for Skywalker-san. It shouldn't be long.

Hey, hey, I practice other styles! You may be my only teacher right now, but you should see me with an ax lately. I don't have a style name for it, sure, but it's impressive.
